Our story

Today’s castle occupies a site steeped in history, marking the tenth mile of the ancient Roman road ‘Via Laurentina’. In early medieval times, this location served as a fortification and as a station for changing horses. The castle’s name, ‘Decima’, is a direct reference to ist historic position at this ‘tenth’ – ‘decimo’– mile. Within the castle’s walls, you will also find the picturesque church of Sant’Andrea Apostolo.

The castle is nestled in the expansive Decima Malafede nature reserve. Spanning around 6,000 hectares, this estate stands as the largest protected area within the RomaNatura park system.
